Water filters for your have come a long way. Easy and inexpensive to use, there isn’t any reason not to have one at least connected to your sink. A better set up is to have a whole house filtration system. These are connected by a plumber usually next to your water heater. It’s connected to the cold water coming into the home. This way all of you filtration needs are met. So, you shower, bath, laundry, and drinking water is filtered. These filters generally run for less that a $1000 dollars and last around 3 years. Replacement cartridges are around $600 dollars.
Another set up is to use either a countertop filter or a under the counter filter system in your kitchen and then have a shower filter so you are using filtered chlorine free water. This type of set up can be purchased for under $200 for both of them. We got ours through a company called Better Water Store. They had discounted prices and their service was excellent. We chose the Aquasana brand AQ-4000 countertop filter and an AQ-4100 shower filter.
