Subscription to Internet Service in my Area

I am interested in signing up for internet service in my area, and I have a lot of questions. For one thing, cable, DSL, satellite, and fiber optics providers all claim their service is superior. So which one is right? Or a better question may be which one is the right service for me? I don’t want to pay for more speed than I need, and it seems that while everyone is talking about fiber optics, I don’t necessarily think I will ever need that much speed for what I intend to use my internet for. I talked to a neighbor, and they have cable internet, which they like very much. But another neighbor said that weather can interfere with cable internet, plus you can sometimes have a slow connection when a lot of people are using their computers. I finally decided that DSL with its dedicated bandwidth and generally lower prices was a good choice for me.

If like me you are looking for DSL internet service providers in your area, there are some great deals available right now. AT&T is offering medium speed service with no term commitments for $19.95 a month. If you are interested in faster speeds like their Pro service at 50x the speed of dialup, or lightning speed at 125x the speed of dialup, you are eligible for $50 back, plus free wireless modem and free WiFi at 17,000 locations nationwide. Verizon also has similar plans starting at $19.99 a month with free modem and first month free.
