How many times have you seen someone exercising looking at his watch? More than likely he is not just checking out the time of date. More than likely he is monitoring his heart rate, how many beats his pulse is doing, or in some cases getting information as to how many calories he just burned running on the treadmill. So is all of this posturing to know this information needed? Does it make a difference in your workout plan? Is it really necessary? To most it doesn’t, but it isn’t a negative if you so choose. There are after all many exercise machines that keep you informed of all of the above continuously. If you are not watching something on the television or reading a magazine you might as well play with the buttons on an exercise cycle or treadmill. Spinning bikes might be the exception.
So you’ve sweated for an hour and you find out you burned up 200 calories. And you think that’s all? That nutritional sports bar you consumed just before you worked out had more calories in it than I just lost. Bummer. Next time keep the treat in the wrapper. But not to worry. You’ll still be burning calories once you leave the gym. Now opt for some plain water.
