A guide to inexpensive wedding invitations

If you are newly engaged – congratulations! You’ll find that a good wedding store will be very helpful in your wedding planning and wedding supplies – especially when it comes to wedding invitations. Many custom printed wedding invitations are beautiful – and cost-prohibitive. So if you are on a budget (and who isn’t these days?), do-it-yourself, self printed invitations are friendlier to the wallet without giving up elegance or creativity. There are several options for DIY invitations. The easiest and least time-consuming is to use an invitation kit (such as those available at eyecandygift.com) and print your invitations on a quality computer printer (or your local printer).

Many of these invitations are beautifully embellished with gold edges or semi-transparent vellum paper. If you won’t be sending many invitations and have good handwriting, you can hand-print the invitation wording in calligraphy.  In fact, many of these wedding invitation kits have been created by top designers like Laura Ashley and others.  There is also the more creative route: a custom-mixed CD, with the invitation printed in the CD case cover; gluing the ends of the invitation onto dowells and rolling it into a scroll; using some of the many scrapbooking supplies to piece together a unique look. Whatever you choose, inexpensive wedding invitations don’t have to look cheap
